Ripple Delete Shortcut in Premiere Pro

Deletes the selected clip and automatically closes the gap in the timeline.

This is a fundamental time-saver in narrative editing. It eliminates the tedious two-step process of deleting a clip and then manually shuffling the rest of the timeline, preventing sync issues and speeding up rough cuts exponentially.

Select a clip or an empty space in your timeline, then press Shift + Delete. The content is removed and all subsequent clips automatically shift to the left to close the gap.
